美国上市公司的会计报表项目可以根据公司不同而不同，但是大多数的会计报表项目是相同的，或者说是大同小异的，因此通过阅读某家公司的报表至少可以熟悉通用的会计报表项目。

阅读前的一些基本说明

① 季报中的报表由于未经审计，因此，每一张报表的开头都注明“unaudited”。

② 美国财务会计准则委员会并没有对上市公司的会计年度做出特别规定，只是公布了一个指导时间，即10月1日到第二年的9月30日，因此上市公司可以根据自己经营情况自由选择会计年度并确定会计报表的截至日，大多数上市公司都会选择一个季度终了的工作日作为会计报表的截止日。这样，你看到的苹果公司第三季度季报的会计报表截止日是2016年6月25日，这一天是周五，是2016年6月份的最后一个工作日。
