日期的英文格式

使用英文表示日期或顺序时，都会以序数（ordinal numbers）呈现。

在美式英文的书写上，大部分日期单以数字表示，后面不需加上 st、nd、rd 或 th。

例句：

I need to finish this project by July 21.

我必须在七月二十一日前完成这个企画。

美式和英式的日期格式最大的差别在于顺序的不同，英式写法是先写日期才写月份，但美式写法正好相反，是先写月份才写日期。

举例：

英式：“日/月/年”；

美式: “月/日/年”；

如：2009年3月1日

英式缩写：01/03/2009

美式缩写：03/01/2009

此外，书写年份和月日时，美式写法需在年份和月日之间加上逗号。

They were married on July 13, 2015, in Las Vegas.（美式）

They were married on 13 July 2015, in Las Vegas.（英式）

他们在 2015 年 7 月 13 日于拉斯维加斯结婚。

另外，在使用数字格式时，可能会以句号或支号取代斜线表示，例如：2020 年 7 月 13 日可写成 13.7.2020 或 07-13-20。

以数字表达日期的格式 Year-Month-Day（年 – 月 – 日），举例：2020/07/13，无论在英式或美式英文里都较为少见，主要应用在非常官方或专业的文件中。

此外，为了避免英美等不同国家使用不同格式产生误会，建议标准国际格式为 YYYY-MM-DD，举例：2020-07-13，大部分的亚洲国家也都采取这种格式。

用英文表达时间的顺序

若要在一个句子里需细述时间，例如：时间、星期、月份和年份，单位大多由小至大，但仍有美式与英式英文以及强调不同时间重要性的差别。

以下例句为常见的时间和日期书写格式，记得在书信中，月份的名称不可缩写。

The conference begins in November.

The conference begins in November 2020.

The conference begins on Nov. 5.

The conference begins on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The conference begins on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2020.

The conference begins at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2020, in Bangkok.

The conference begins at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Bangkok.

The conference begins at 11 A.M. November 5 in Bangkok.

注：英语日期前介词的使用：若指在哪一年或哪一月，则用介词in，若具体到某一天，则需用介词on.，若具体到某时，则需用介词at。

一般而言，美式英文会先写「星期几」，再讲「月、日、年」（英式英文则是日、月、年），再提「具体时间」。

Please join us for an invitation-only event at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m.

请于九月七日礼拜三早上十点，在旧金山的比尔·格雷厄姆市政礼堂共同参与这场仅限受邀对象的活动。

若有时间和地点，通常会先说明地点，最后才是时间。

The singer is going to be at the bookstore in Taipei at 6:00 PM on Wednesday evening on May 20, 2020.

这位歌手将会于 2020 年 5 月 20 日星期三的晚上六点现身在台北这间书店。

最后说下口译方面

口译时，"月份"一般直接用英语读出；"日" 则要读成 "the + 序数词"；

读年份时，一般分为两个单位来读，前两个数为一个单位，后两个数为一个单位。如：1982年读作nineteen eighty-two, 1900年读作nineteen hundred。

如果是三位数，先读第一位，再把后两个数合起来读。如：984年可读为nine eighty-four,757年读成seven fifty-seven。

另外，像2000年一般读成two thousand, 2001年则读成two thousand and one,以此类推，2004年应读成two thousand and four。 January 12th, 1993读成January the twelfth, nineteen ninety-three。

第三个数字为“零”（其它数字不是“零”）的年份的读法应当将该“零”读为O［u］。例如：

1809年读作 eighteen O nine。

另外，还有一些非四位数的年份，它们有两种读法：一种是按照基数词的方法来读，另一种是一个一个数字来读。例如：

531BC 读作 five three one BC（或 five hundred and thirty-one BC）
