劫持船只、汽车罪(crime of hijacking/seizing a ship or an automobile)，是指以暴力、胁迫或者其他方法劫持船只、汽车，危害公共安全的行为。

“船只”(ship )，是指各种运送旅客或者物资的水上运输工具；

“汽车”(automobile/motor vehicle)，主要指公共汽车、电车等。只要行为人实施了以暴力、胁迫或者其他方法劫持船只、汽车的，即构成本罪。
