Clearing account在会计中一般指过渡账户，也称暂记账户。

过渡账户是一种临时性账户，用于放置后续需要转移到另一个主要账户的费用与金额。会计人员使用过渡账户存储短期内资金进出的信息，直到可以正式登记在永久记录中。其英文释义如下：

Clearing account is a temporary account containing costs or amounts to be transferred to another account. Accountants use clearing accounts to store money-in and money-out information for a short period of time until everything is ready to be officially registered in the permanent records.

但clearing account也可指结算账户，特别是与currency进行搭配时，如：

In order to account for the differences arising from the translation of expenditure incurred during rates of exchange as compared with the constant dollar rates, a separate currency clearing account shall be maintained. 

为说明本财务期内用欧元的开支按不同的业务汇率和按不变汇率折算时产生的差异，将另立一个货币结算帐户。

For both budgetary revenues and expenditures, the foreign exchange differential between the constant rate and the United Nations operational rate of exchange at the time of a transaction is recorded in the currency clearing account. 

关于预算收入和开支，交易时不变汇率和联合国业务汇率之间的外汇差额记入货币结算帐户。

suspense account一般也指临时账户，用以更正会计记账中产生的错误。当所有的错误都被更正之后，suspense account便会消失，因此它不会出现在财务报表中。an account in the books of an organization in which items are entered temporarily before allocation to the correct or final account.

suspense account的产生源于试算平衡表中的借贷不等，其产生是suspense account的考点之一。如果企业所有的经济交易都记录正确，试算平衡表应该出现借方等于贷方的情况。但在期末编制试算平衡表时，却可能出现借方余额大于贷方余额或者贷方余额大于借方余额的情况。这两种情况说明企业做账存在问题。在解决问题之前，需要暂时使用suspense account科目，使得不相等的试算平衡表相等。

可能会产生suspense account的情况如下：

1.漏记(omitting)一笔现金销售交易，由于没有记录这笔经济交易，所以借方和贷方都不会记录，不会造成试算平衡表(Trail balance)不相等，不会有Suspense account产生。

2.一笔赊销在Sales account中记录了两次，销售分录为DR Receivable/cash CR Sales，sales被记录了两次，即贷方多记录了一笔，借贷不相等，suspense account产生。

3.Reversal error表示把借贷的方向记反。借贷方向相反，但是金额仍然是借方和贷方相等，不会产生Suspense account。

4.修理费用记录到固定资产科目，原本应该是DR Expense ，错误的记录到DR PPE ，都是借方科目，只是具体科目记录错误，不会造成借贷不等，不会产生Suspense account。

在实际操作中，有些公司也会将suspense account用于处理一些特殊事项。
