Utility Mode Patent，即实用新型专利。是三种专利类型（发明、实用新型和外观设计）中的一种，实用新型是指对产品的形状、构造或者其结合所提出的适于实用的新的技术方案。

我国《专利法》明确将实用新型作为专利保护的类型之一，规定实用新型专利是指：产品形状、构造或者其结合所提出的适于实用的新的技术方案。

实用新型专利特点：

1、实用新型专利只保护产品，该产品应当是经过工业方法制造的、占据一定空间的实体。

实用新型专利的期限：

即专利权的终止。专利权的终止根据其终止的原因可分为：

1、期限届满终止：发明专利权的期限为二十年，实用新型专利权的期限为十年，外观设计专利权的期限为十五年，均自申请日起计算；

2、未缴费终止：专利权人未照规定缴纳或缴足年费及滞纳金的，专利权自上一年度期满之日起终止。
