Mall指商业集合体:一种大型的,常是封闭的复杂商业区,区里包括许多商店、商业企业以及餐馆,它们通常都带有步行道以供出入。

 

Shopping malls or malls are large enclosed spaces that are often characterized with many stores that sell merchandise to the public. Malls can be medium to large in size, depending on the construction and the number of stores that it wants to hold.

 

在剑桥字典里面的Mall描述得比较简单,是指一个大型通常有屋顶、车辆禁止入内的购物区域。而在牛津字典里面,他的解释也和剑桥字典差不多,不过他也举例强调里面有很多店铺、餐厅在里面,另外牛津字典也指出这是美式英语的用法。

 

Store:指的是商店;零售店,店的大小通常不拘,是最普遍的商店讲法。
