在知道turn-key lines之前，首先需要先了解turn-key是什么意思。在英语中有turn-key contract 意思为“交钥匙合同；整套转让合同”，具体意思为：按照这种合同，合同一方应按合同价格提供随时可使用的完工产品：<1>在房屋交易或建筑合同中，卖方或建筑承包人承担全部风险，完成所有建筑项目，房屋使用人只需拿钥匙开启房门即可入住使用，无任何未完工或尚待补充的工程；<2>指钻探方承担所有风险的合同。在石油钻探业中，钻探方承担安装设备、进行钻探及使油井能正常生产等全部业务，另一方当事人只需接受工程并可马上进行石油开采作业。但除合同有明确规定外，钻探方不负保证油井产油的义务。从上面的解释可以看出turn-key的可以解释为“交钥匙，整套”，也就是合同一方提供的产品是随时可供使用的，另一方无需再进行任何加工。为了更好的理解该词，以下为该词的英文释义：A turnkey, a turnkey project, or a turnkey operation (also spelled turn-key) is a type of project that is constructed so that it can be sold to any buyer as a completed product.
